Huddersfield Giants centre Joe Wardle has extended his contract until 2017.
The 21-year-old has scored 14 tries in 18 Super League appearances for the table-topping Giants this season.
"I'm over the moon and it's a nice bit of security for me and my family," he told BBC Radio Leeds.
"I think I had a year left on my current deal and I was keen to stay and they wanted to keep me, so we just sorted it out from there. I didn't want to go anywhere else."
Wardle was signed as a teenager from Bradford Bulls in 2010 and had a spell on dual registration with Barrow before establishing his place in the Giants first team.
He added: "If we can keep doing what we're doing and stay on winning ways then we'll be challenging for silverware and that's what I want.
"We've got a good squad here and if you don't play well then you'll lose your place. The competition for places is very healthy and it keeps you on your toes."
