Aaron Heremaia says Hull FC must use the play-offs to rectify the wrongs of their Challenge Cup final defeat.
The Airlie Birds were beaten 16-0 by Wigan, who collected a record 19th trophy in tricky conditions at Wembley.
He told BBC Sport: "If you play well and lose, you can accept that. But to play so poorly; we're all disappointed.
"We get a chance to play on the big stage again and rectify the wrongs of Saturday. If there's one positive, that's probably the only one."
The 30-year-old hooker, who signed for the Black and Whites in 2012, felt Wigan dealt with the wet conditions far better than his side.
"Wigan were there for the taking but we lacked composure at crucial times," he added.
"They handled the weather better than us and their half-backs kicked a lot better. I don't think we gave ourselves a chance."
Loose forward Joe Westerman was frustrated that his side were unable to take their chances.
"We defended for each other as we have done week-in week-out. We've shown we're one of the top defensive sides in the league but it's no good attacking like we're doing," he said.
"We've got to sort out our completion, that let us down. We'll regroup, go back into training and look at what went wrong."
Warriors' centre Iain Thornley and full-back Sam Tomkins scored the only tries of an error-strewn final, in which Hull recorded a first-half set completion rate of only 58%.
Westerman added: "We're all disappointed but we've just got to move on now and hopefully change things in the league."
Hull will now travel to the DW Stadium on Friday where they face Wigan again, this time in the Super League.
