Huddersfield Giants forward Brett Ferres could be hit by an eight-game ban after being charged with a Grade E dangerous throw on St Helens player Jonny Lomax on Sunday.
England player Ferres was sent off for the tackle in the Giants' 17-16 loss.
Last week, Melbourne's Jordan McLean was banned for seven games after a tackle on Newcastle's Alex McKinnon left the forward with a broken neck.
Ferres, 27, will appear before the RFL disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday.
