'Hysteria' over Flower punch - Lenagan
- From the section Rugby League
Wigan Warriors chairman Ian Lenagan says talk of Ben Flower's double punch in Saturday's Super League Grand Final being rugby league's darkest hour is "hysteria".
Wigan prop Flower, 26, was sent off after two minutes for punching St Helens' Lance Hohaia, then hitting him again as he lay on the ground.
He faces a minimum of an eight-game ban for the incident, which Lenagan described as "completely unacceptable" and left Flower "appalled at his own behaviour".
Saints won 14-6 at Old Trafford to claim their first Super League title since 2006.
