Hunslet Hawks have signed Leeds Rhinos second-row forward Brett Delaney on a dual-registration basis.

The 32-year-old Australian underwent knee surgery in pre-season and has yet to make an appearance in 2015.

Hawks coach Barry Eaton can call on the ex-Parramatta utility for Sunday's Championship game against Bradford.

"The great thing about the Championship this season is that it is a very competitive environment," said Rhinos head coach Brian McDermott.

Leeds have allowed players such as Kylie Leuluai, Richard Moore, Jimmy Keinhorst, Robbie Ward and Josh Walters to sign similar terms in recent seasons.
