Kevin Brown: Widnes captain signs new two-year deal
Widnes captain Kevin Brown has signed a new two-year extension with the Super League side until 2018.
The 30-year-old stand-off moved to the Vikings in 2013 for an undisclosed fee after six years at Huddersfield.
Brown, who began his career at Wigan, has been in superb form this season scoring 13 tries in his 11 appearances.
"I am really excited about having the chance to be part of something that's been building ever since I joined the club in 2013," said Brown.
He took over the captaincy full-time at the Vikings this year after Jon Clarke's retirement, having been skipper at Huddersfield.
"I heard Thierry Henry say once on television that when you play and train with Lionel Messi you're not surprised by anything, because that's what he does every single day," added head coach Denis Betts.
"When you see how Kev approaches the game and how hard he works, then you see how he performs on the weekend, it comes as no surprise to the players and the coaching staff."
