Warrington head coach Tony Smith has confirmed that Parramatta Eels' Chris Sandow is one of a number of half-back options who they are considering.
The 26-year-old Australian, who started his career at South Sydney Rabbitohs, has been heavily linked to Wolves.
Asked if Sandow is a target, Smith told BBC Radio Merseyside: "He's one of the many."
The 48-year-old added: "We've spoken to a number of people on this and that side of the world. He's on the list."
Warrington will need a replacement half-back for Richie Myler who is moving to Catalans Dragons at the end of the season.
Should Sandow move to Halliwell Jones Stadium, there had been reports in Australia he could arrive before the end of this campaign.
"We need to land somebody," added Smith.
"Whether that is then for this year as well, that's a whole different ball game.
"We've just got to work things through and make sure we're getting the right person."
