Salford Red Devils have signed Wigan centre Iain Thornley and Featherstone forward Reni Maitua on deals until the end of the season.
Thornley, 23, who had a spell at rugby union side Sale, has recently returned from a long-term knee injury.
"He will add depth and competition in our already established back line-up," said assistant coach Ian Watson.
Maitua, 33, moved to Rovers at the start of the year from NRL side Canterbury Bulldogs.
He represented Australia in 2006 but switched allegiance to Samoa two years ago, and has also played for Cronulla Sharks and Parramatta Eels.
"Reni has been one of the outstanding performers in the Championship this year," added Watson.
"We are very confident with his huge experience at the very highest levels of the game that he can hit the ground running in Super League."
Both players have not been included in Salford's squad for their game at Wakefield on Sunday but will feature in The Qualifiers, where the Red Devils will hope to secure their top-flight status for 2016.
