Bernard Guasch: RFL fines Catalans Dragons chairman

Catalans lost only their second home game of the season with defeat by Huddersfield

Catalans Dragons chairman Bernard Guasch has been fined £1,000 by the Rugby Football League for public criticism of a match referee.

Guasch made comments about the decision made by Joe Cobb relating to a try scored by Jermaine McGillvary in July's 14-12 home defeat by Huddersfield.

The comments were deemed to be in breach of the RFL operational rules and the organisation's respect policy.

He has 14 days in which to appeal against the verdict.

It is not the first time Guasch has spoken out about the Dragons' treatment by referees, having complained about the RFL in August 2013.
