Warrington winger Gene Ormsby could miss the whole Super 8s series after he broke his jaw in Saturday's Challenge Cup semi-final defeat against Hull KR.
Ormsby, 22, who underwent surgery on Sunday, could face up to eight weeks out of action as part of his recovery.
The former Audenshaw School pupil was introduced into the Wires first-team last season, and has since scored 23 tries in 33 league appearances.
Wolves will also be monitoring Ben Harrison after his concussion.
Cumbrian loose forward Harrison, 27, went off after just 20 minutes with concussion, to be replaced by Brad Dwyer, and never returned.
Warrington's next game, their first in the new Super 8s, will be back at Headingley against Challenge Cup finalists Leeds on Friday.
