Justin Carney signed a long-term contract with Castleford Tigers last season

Super League club Castleford Tigers have suspended winger Justin Carney.

The 27-year-old is the subject of an internal investigation, the details of which have not been disclosed.

In a short statement on their club website, Castleford - who lie fifth in the Super League table - said they would not comment further.

Australia-born Carney has scored 63 tries in 62 games since joining the Tigers at the start of 2013, including 18 in Super League this season.
