Terry Campese: Hull KR half-back ahead of schedule after surgery
Hull KR half-back Terry Campese is expected to be fit for the start of the 2016 Super League season after making good progress following knee surgery.
Campese, 30, needed surgery to reconstruct his knee ligaments after sustaining an injury in a 30-22 loss to Castleford Tigers in June.
"We're looking at another three or four months," boss Chris Chester told BBC Radio Humberside.
"But he's ahead of schedule and working very hard with the medical staff."
The 2016 campaign begins in February and Chester expects Campese, who captained the side before his injury, to be available.
Chester added: "Everything is going to plan, he's getting stronger and will be fine for next season. We will also try to get him a friendly before it starts.
"We're a better team when he is on the field and we will wrap him up in cotton wool until his first game."
