Rhys Hanbury helped Widnes Vikings move to the brink of securing their Super League status with four tries in his side's 46-4 win at Wakefield.
Widnes led 22-0 at the break, with Hanbury grabbing a brace in between Lloyd White and Aaron Heremaia tries.
Hanbury competed his hat-trick and Kevin Brown went over before Lee Smith responded for Wakefield.
A further Hanbury effort and Paddy Flynn's try put Widnes within a point of staying up.
Hull KR became the first team to confirm their Super League place via The Qualifiers after thrashing Bradford Bulls earlier on Saturday.
Wakefield remain fourth in the table, ahead of Bradford on points difference alone, and four points behind Widnes in second spot with two games remaining.
