Hull FC coach Lee Radford says the club are making progress, despite winning only one of their last seven games.
The club are eighth in the Super 8s after coming 11th in the Super League in 2014, but an injury-hit side have struggled in the last two months.
"Of course we've made progress, we weren't in the top eight last year and this year we are," Radford told BBC Radio Humberside.
"When our best 17 have been on the park we've been a match for anybody."
Radford added: "We've blooded more youngsters than we would've liked, but they have shown up and showed what they're about.
"With a little bit more quality coming in we will turn these losses into wins."
Hull FC suffered a 34-20 loss to Huddersfield Giants on Friday and end their season with a home game against Catalans Dragons on Sunday, 27 September.
