Castleford Tigers chairman Jack Fulton has died at the age of 83.
Fulton spent 21 years on the board at the West Yorkshire club and became chairman in the early 1990s.
He led the team out at Wembley in 2014 as Castleford reached their first Challenge Cup final which they lost 23-10 to Leeds Rhinos.
A club statement said: "Our sincere condolences go out to the Fulton family. We'd ask that our fans respect the family's privacy at this time."
Fulton's passing came a day after plans were approved for the club's new 10,000-capacity stadium as part of a £135m development programme in the town.
