Wakefield Wildcats: Kevin Locke leaves club after three months
Full-back Kevin Locke has left Wakefield Wildcats after just three months at Belle Vue.
The 26-year-old was suspended by the club a fortnight ago after being involved in a car crash with team-mates Tim Smith and Reece Lyne.
Former New Zealand international Locke joined Wakefield from Salford Red Devils in June and played five games.
"We've concluded the case involving Kevin, shook hands and gone our own ways," chairman Michael Carter said.
"He picked up a shoulder injury and would have been doubtful for the games he'd missed due to this matter, so we were focusing on playing without him anyway."
Smith, 30, is set to appear before magistrates on Wednesday on a charge of driving without due care and attention and is also the subject of an internal investigation by Wakefield.
"I believe he's in court on Wednesday so I don't think anything will be resolved from a club perspective before the weekend and the game against Bradford, " added Carter.
"It's still very sensitive and I'd just prefer to concentrate on what's ahead of us."
Lyne, 22, returned to the Wakefield starting line-up on Sunday in the 24-10 defeat by Sheffield Eagles in The Qualifiers. He had been fined by the club.
