Super League side Widnes Vikings have released versatile winger Jack Owens from his contract.
The 21-year-old came through the youth system with the Vikings and scored 30 tries in his 87 appearances after making his debut in 2011.
He featured just once in The Qualifiers as Widnes secured their place in the top flight for 2016.
Owens did have one year left to run on his current deal but has come to an agreement to leave the club.
"Having looked at the balance of our squad we felt that Patrick Ah Van, Paddy Flynn, Stefan Marsh, Rhys Hanbury and Corey Thompson were ahead of Jack in terms of our back-three options," said head coach Denis Betts.
"In addition there are a number of contractual upgrades within the existing group of players which further increases the financial investment by the club into the playing group."
