WB is not the type to change his methods - his record in terms of achievements and culture within his club (the man united of Australian sport) speaks for itself - we either back Wayne or go a different English direction - Powell, wane or McDermott.Until the player pool increases we will not solve the problem - it is a numbers game - and in aus the elite athletes play in the nrl - not the epl
60 - Potentially. But also, I remember when David Waite came over. He absolutely immersed himself in the game over here from the grassroots up. He sowed the seeds for the way we have been defending, winning the play the ball even basic passing and catching. Conversely, I think that by WB not doing likewise, regardless of his CV it must be extremely difficult to buy into his methods.
Are we now seeing the consequences of having a coach located on the other side of the world to where the majority of his team play. Surely any tweaking changing and experimenting should of been done before now.

Having watched the last two Games and now listening to WB it's clear he doesn't know his best team,Betts has no idea if he did then KB, would not have been on the plane Bateman another waste, we will win against France, then lose to PNG, WB is not playing to SL strengths notably fast flowing open rugby, candidly the quicker WB goes the better, it's all so boring and slow watching this team
Cannot understand WB he rests his best winger and centre and introduces Brown into the game, his other winger is up against the beak for biting all the pundits are saying the only three world class players we have are the two wingers and the centre What is going on we have not taken our in form players, our best full back after Zac is Shaul he never got a mention now playing players out of position
Bennett should join a circus as a clown, keep saying it Cas won the league playing attacking rugby and a strong defence yet he picks only 2 players from that squad. As said by many England are so boring at going forward and predictable. No need to set the alarm for a early morning final as we wont be in it.
To say Bennett is clueless is harsh imo. Although England were poor against Lebanon, Bennett is one of the most successful coaches in RL history, and I would be very surprised anyone posting on here is a better coach than Bennett. The WC isn’t just about the 1st two games. Any WC in any sport is more of a long distance race rather than a sprint. Lets see how the tournament pans out fully first.
Clueless Bennett is!
Lots of really thoughtful comments on this thread - notable for the absence of the usual suspects - which is refreshing for all. There seems to be a degree of entitlement with the eng world class squad and a lack of healthy competition for places which is the main difference with the Aussies - you fight for an aus spot and then fight to hang onto it - as the squad changes year to year
i have to say watching England RL is like watching the football team, boring and a lack of creativity.Bateman never an international centre, who replaces Mcgilvary if he is banned?Gale poor since his operation and all the so called NRL English players not actually taking us to the next level. I would be surprised now if we reach the semis witn PNG to come.
45. Dugan plays fullback or right centre for St George, Holmes usually plays on the right wing or fullback, Gagai at centre for Newcastle, Morgan as a right halfback for North QLD. Frizell switches sides, backs should be able to play on the left and right. Fullbacks should be able to play on the wing. Cam Munster plays switches from fullback to five-eighth, and covers for the centres.
