Tom Johnstone scored a hat-trick as Wakefield condemned Hull KR to defeat on their return to Super League.
The visitors ran in four first-half tries, with Johnstone's double and a try each for Bill Tupou and Liam Finn opening an 18-0 half-time lead.
Chris Clarkson closed the gap with Hull KR's only try of the game.
But Johnstone completed his treble to make the game safe and Ryan Hampshire also went over as Wakefield started the 2018 season with a victory.
It was a fitting return to action for Johnstone, who missed much of 2017 with a serious knee injury.
The winger started the scoring with a spectacular finish in the corner with Matthew Marsh in the sin-bin for a professional foul.
He touched down Jacob Miller's pass for his second before the break and than ran in a third in the corner in the 69th minute.
It secured a winning return to Hull KR for Wakefield coach Chris Chester, who was sacked by them three matches into the 2016 Super League season.
