Mark Percival: St Helens centre out for 'several months' with shoulder injury
St Helens centre Mark Percival has been ruled out for "several months" after scans revealed he needs to have shoulder surgery.
The 25-year-old suffered the injury in the 19-0 defeat by Warrington.
The news comes on the same day that the England international signed a new five-year deal with Saints.
He came through the club's academy and has scored 88 tries in 158 appearances since his debut against Leeds Rhinos in 2013.
Percival, who has won five caps for England, scored a try in last season's Grand Final victory over Salford Red Devils.
On extending his deal, he told the club website: "I am over the moon. I have loved being at this club since I joined at the age of 14."
