London Wasps centre Dom Waldouck will be out for the rest of the season after snapping his Achilles tendon.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury 32 minutes into Sunday's 25-12 Premiership defeat by London Irish.

Waldouck, who has travelled with England Elite squads but has yet to make his Test debut, is also ruled out for the World Cup in September.

"He's got a nasty injury, he'll be out for the rest of the season," said Wasps interim director of rugby Leon Holden.

The club have yet to discover the full extent of the injury and exactly how long Waldouck will be absent.

The Wasps academy product has featured 19 times this season, three of them as a replacement, taking his appearance total to 99.
