Nottingham centre Tim Streather has signed a two-year deal which will keep him at Meadow Lane until summer 2013.
The 22-year-old, who can also play on the wing, has made 49 league appearances and scored 25 tries during his two seasons with the club.
Director of rugby Glenn Delaney said: "He's showed his class this season.
"From last year when he was player of the season, to this year when he's got better and better, Tim's exactly the type of player we wanted to secure."
Streather, who is hoping to help Nottingham reach the Championship play-off semi-finals, said: "I'm delighted. It's a brilliant set-up at Meadow Lane and I'm very pleased to have the chance to advance my career with the club.
"This season we've still got lots to achieve and our next aim is to make those semi-finals. I've still got a lot to learn as a player and I know I'm in exactly the right place to do that."
