Newcastle have signed Auckland centre Jamie Helleur for next season.
The 27-year-old, who has won three caps for Samoa, came through Auckland's academy system and made his senior debut in 2005.
He becomes the Falcons' third new signing for next season following the arrival of Gloucester scrum-half Jordi Pasqualin and
Coach Alan Tait told BBC Newcastle: "We're really excited about bringing another quality player in."
He added: "I spoke to Pat Lam [former New Zealand and Samoa player] about him, he told me he'd do a good job for what I'm after.
"He's a good attacking player, he's a great communicator, he's got a kicking game because he's played full-back so I think he'll take a bit of pressure off Jimmy Gopperth in midfield.
"He's got a good step and he's a strong lad, he run's great lines, but what I've been impressed with as well is that he can bring the outside backs into the game.
"Experience is what I'm after and I'm really excited about the kid coming."
