Oxford Harlequins' home game with Bournemouth on Saturday has been cancelled following the death of Bournemouth winger Sam Yarwood.

Yarwood, 22, died on Wednesday in a canoeing accident at the Lake District and Quins skipper Simon Chadbone says the game will not be replayed.

"We were told the news last night, our thoughts are with Bournemouth at this tragic time," Chadbone told BBC Oxford.

"The game won't be replayed as there are no other dates available."

The 32-year-old continued: "It will probably be considered a home walkover which means we would get awarded three or four points because Bournemouth cancelled the game.

"But we should get confimation of that on Saturday."

Quins play their last National Three South West game at Bridgwater next Saturday before their County Cup final against Chinnor at Iffley Road on 24 April.
