Exeter Chiefs assistant coach Ali Hepher says it is crucial his side produce a strong finish in their first Premiership season.

The Chiefs have two games left of their debut term in the top-flight, with safety from relegation now assured.

Hepher told BBC Devon: "You need that feel good factor over the summer and we've got two opportunities now to put in some great performances.

"We're improving, we're getting better and we'll continue on that path."

Exeter's penultimate Premiership fixture sees them travel to Sale on Good Friday, with their season ending at home against Wasps on 7 May.

Hepher said: "It'll be important that we focus on the details that make up to a good performance.

"We need to be right up there in terms of our level of performance, but if we get it, I'm confident we'll get the right result at Sale."

The former Northampton fly-half added that the recent warm weather should make for an entertaining encounter at Edgeley Park.

"It's fantastic," said Hepher. "The ball zips around a little bit quicker and the quality of the skills goes up and so it's very exciting to play in."
