Newcastle Falcons have revealed that centres Gcobani Bobo and Tane Tu'ipulotu and lock Filipo Levi will leave at the end of the season.

Tu'ipulotu has secured a move to Japan, while Bobo and Levi are still to confirm where their futures lie.

"There's no secrets, they have known for a while," Falcons head coach Alan Tait told BBC Newcastle.

"I've looked at our type of rugby, where I want to go and brought in players I want, and I'm still looking."

Tait added: "They were all talked about as players we thought about keeping.

"This is my time as a coach, we've changed our tack a little bit, I've looked at the way I want to play the game and the way I want to structure it."

Former South Africa international Bobo and Levi, both 31, have been with the club since the summer of 2009, while Tu'ipulotu, 30, arrived in November 2008.

Tait has continued to rebuild and reshape the Falcons squad, with five new signings confirmed for the next term.

One player whom Tait is hopeful of retaining at Kingston Park next season is academy graduate Alex Grayexternal-link.

The 19-year-old back-row forward, who turns 20 on Sunday, has made seven appearances this season as a substitute and notched his first try in March's Premiership win over Harlequins.

"Alex is a young kid, and it gets a bit complicated with the academy boys," Tait added.

"We've brought him up through the ranks, so he's got an allegiance to us only until next year, once that's over, he can do what he likes if he doesn't sign a longer contract.

"We've obviously offered him a longer contract, and agents as agents are, try to get it to the players benefit so hopefully he wants to stay and we want him to stay."
