Gloucester boss Bryan Redpath to curb social networking

Fuimaono-Sapolu described Saracens as "horribly boring but very clinical"

Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath is to remind his players of their responsibilities when posting on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

The action comes after centre Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu posted several comments on Twitter in the aftermath of Sunday's 12-10 semi-final defeat at Saracens.

Redpath said: "As professional rugby players, their views and opinions are monitored by thousands online.

"They have to be aware of this and responsible in their postings."

Four penalties from fly-half Owen Farrell proved to be enough to see Saracens through to the Premiership final at Twickenham at Gloucester's expense.

After the game, Fuimaono-Sapolu criticised the referee, Saracens' tactics, and the home side's inability to sell out their ground in his Tweets.

Redpath continued: "We are meeting with every player over the next two days as part of the end of season review process.

"As part of this process, I will remind each and every player of their position as a spokesman and an ambassador for Gloucester Rugby."

Gloucester stopped short of imposing a ban on their players using Twitter, instead "taking the stance that such outlets fall under the domain of freedom of speech".
