Bristol opt to release 11 players

Bristol have released 11 players ahead of next season's Championship campaign.

Robbie Shaw, Richard Bolt, Sam Alford, Nicky Little, Chris Ashwin and Ed Barnes have not been offered new deals.

Jamie Miller, Jonathan Brandling-Harris, Dan Norton, Jack Adams and Anthony Elliott make up the remaining players who will not be retained.

Ollie Hayes and Mako Vunipola have agreed moves to Worcester and Saracens respectively, while hooker David Blaney is in negotiations over a new contract.

Head coach Liam Middleton has kept on 19 members of the squad that featured in 2010/11, including captain Iain Grieve and flanker James Merriman, who was named player of the season.

The club have also handed a professional academy contract to Mitch Eadie.
