Newcastle Falcons have signed Stade Rochelais full-back Greg Goosen on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old, who can also play at centre and stand-off, becomes Alan Tait's eighth signing of the summer.
"I just feel that this is such a fantastic opportunity for me," Goosen told the club website.
"It is going to be nice to take up a new challenge. Premiership rugby has always excited me and I'm just really excited to get up to Newcastle."
Goosen added: "The club has the potential to do great things and I am just excited that I can contribute some experience and put in 100%.
"I hope that my experience will come in handy during my time there."
Havin begun his career with the Natal Sharks in Durban, he moved to French side Racing Metro in 2006 before the switch to Rochelais in 2010.
Goosen will battle Luke Fielden, Tom Catterick, Alex Tait and Jeremy Manning for a place at full-back next term.
