Sale Sharks sign Samoan centre Johnny Leota

Leota joins Sale from New Zealand provincial side Manawatu

Sale Sharks have continued the strengthening of their backline with the signing of centre Johnny Leota.

The Samoa international, 27, has been included in the 25-man training squad for the World Cup, and if selected will join Sale after the tournament.

Director of sport Steve Diamond said: "Johnny is a great signing for us and I'm sure he will fit in well.

"He is playing well and I've had my eye on him. He is a great defender and great line breaker with ball in hand."
