Ulster scored five tries as they beat Neath in Friday's pre-season friendly at the Gnoll.

Paddy Jackson landed an early penalty and a try, scored by John Burns after a run by Chris Farrell made it 8-0.

Winger Craig Gilroy and Robbie Diack added tries to give the visitors a 20-3 half-time advantage.

Neath fought back to just 20-15 down but Blane McIlroy got Ulster's fourth try and senior debutant Peter Nelson grabbed a late touchdown.

Ulster's final friendly is at home to Harlequins on Friday, 26 August and a week later they start their league campaign against Glasgow at Ravenhill.
