Launceston director of rugby Simon Owens says the club must prove that they are worthy of being promoted straight back to National One.
The Cornish All Blacks went down 31-18 at Old Albanians in their first match since relegation to National Two South.
"This is going to be a tough year for us," Owens told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"We believe we are a National One side, we're good enough to play up there but we've got to prove ourselves in this league," he added.
Launceston were relegated at the end of last season after having had 20 points deducted for going into liquidation.
