Redruth's plans to sign scrum-half Greg Goodfellow have been delayed after they suffered problems getting him international clearance.
The former Scotland Under-21 international has previously played for the Cornish Pirates and the now defunct Mounts Bay.
"Greg left his club in New Zealand somewhat prematurely," said Redruth director of Rugby Dave Penberthy.
"There are some issues around that which we are trying to sort."
Redruth are in need of cover at number nine after Nick Simmons left the club to go travelling.
"The key thing is getting the IRB clearance which can only be given once the club gives the authority," Penberthy told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"It's certainly imminent now and we hope to get it tied up by early next week."
