England team-mates inspire Saints flanker Ben Nutley

Northampton Saints flanker Ben Nutley says that training with the club's England stars has inspired him.

The 19-year-old made his Premiership debut against Gloucester, and was praised by captain Phil Dowson.

Nutley told BBC Look East: "You start out on the first day seeing Courtney Lawes and Dylan Hartley, and then you're training with them.

"You see them with England and it does rub off. It makes you want to perform even more and get to where they are."

Fellow forward Dowson called Nutley an "outstanding talent" after his display at Franklin's Gardens.

Nutley added: "When I read my name on the team sheet, I was delighted. All the boys and coaches were congratulating me.

"When your role models are saying 'well done', it's a nice feeling."
