Jersey scrum-half Nicky Griffiths says he is 'loving' playing for the island club.

The former Cornish Pirates, Newport Gwent Dragons and Wales Under-21 player joined Ben Harvey's Jersey side during the summer.

"I'm loving it," Griffiths told BBC Radio Jersey after the island side beat Blackheath 23-27.

"It's a great club and it's great to play under Ben as well, he's one of the main reasons I came here," he said.

Griffiths made five appearances in the Celtic League for Newport Gwent Dragons last season and has played at Championship level for the Cornish Pirates, Doncaster and Birmingham and Solihull.

"It's a brilliant club and a great island and I'm glad I came here," he added.

Griffiths scored his first try in three seasons when he touched down against Blackheath on Saturday as the side recorded their first ever away win at National One level.
