Worcester's Ceri Jones relishing clash with Harlequins

Jones has yet to start for Warriors in the Premiership

Worcester Warriors prop Ceri Jones is looking forward to facing his old side Harlequins at Sixways on Saturday.

Jones ended nine years with Quins, where he played over 200 games, by moving to Sixways in the summer.

He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "I pencilled in that one in from the start. I have a few phone calls from the Quins boys, and plenty of banter.

"I was nine seasons at Quins and really enjoyed my time there, but it's nice to be here and the family are back home."

He added: "I am enjoying my time here, but I have nothing but fond memories of the Stoop.

"We finished second in the league and got to the infamous Heineken quarter-final, there were some good games and it was a good squad.

"But I am now looking forward to doing a job on my old chums, and getting the Warriors moving up the table.

"I have been giving George Robson a bit of banter, and Ollie Kohn and James Johnson. There are a lot of good guys there, but they will be the enemy on the weekend."

The 34-year old Wales international says he has found the Warriors dressing room an easy place to fit in, but a pre-season injury has held him back.

"It's been difficult as I picked up an injury in Geneva," he said. "It would have been a lot easier if I had played in the pre-season games.

"Since coming in last weekend and getting 20 minute under my belt I am feeling much more comfortable, having christened myself as a Warrior and looking forward to showing everyone what we can do.

"You don't get to know your team-mates intimately until you have covered their back and they have covered yours on the field, and you have been through hard times and good times on the field, and it's great to be a part of that now."

Worcester Warriors v Harlequins on Saturday, 24 September (1500 BST) will be live on BBC Hereford and Worcester on 104FM and online at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester.
