The Dragons had little change from the Bath defence at Rodney Parade

Bath overwhelmed Newport Gwent Dragons as the Anglo-Welsh LV= Cup kicked off at Rodney Parade.

The visitors ran in seven tries with the hosts' recent South African signing Tonderai Chavhanga crossing in the first-half.

Olly Woodburn, England World Cup squad member Matt Banahan and Tom Biggs went over in the first-half for Bath.

Matt Carraro, Will Spencer, Jack Cuthbert and recent recruit Anthony Perenise scored after the break.

Fly-half Tom Heathcote kick four Bath conversions and a penalty while Matthew Jones replied with a conversion and three penalties.
