Cardiff Blues have strengthened their front row by signing three new players.

The new recruits are former Western Force hooker Ryan Tyrrell and ex-Ospreys hooker Marc Breeze, plus ex-Dragons and Scarlets prop Jamie Corsi.

The Blues were short of front-row options after Gareth Williams retired due to a neck injury and T Rhys Thomas underwent knee surgery.

Wales back Gavin Henson also signed for the Blues on Tuesday in a busy recruitment week for the Welsh region.

Tyrrell, who suffered a serious neck injury last year, played for the Blues in their LV= Cup loss at Newcastle last week and the previous Pro12 win at Aironi, and has been rewarded with a permanent deal.

"Everyone been very responsive in helping me settle in, which has been great, and it almost feels like home away from away already," Tyrrell said.

"It's been good, so I couldn't have asked for a better settling in period from the players and coaching staff.

"It was a good experience to play out in Aironi and up in Newcastle.

"It blew a few cobwebs away. I didn't feel too far off the pace of the game so I was happy with that."

Corsi, who has also played for London Wasps, has spent the last nine months in New Zealand playing for Papatoetoe RFC, Northland and Auckland.

Breeze joins from Aberavon RFC and has also played for the Ospreys and London Welsh.
