Leicester and England scrum-half Ben Youngs has returned from the World Cup with a knee injury according to Tigers' director of rugby Richard Cockerill.
Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: "He's come back from England duty with it not in great nick.
"[His return] won't be in the near future because there are some issues we need to deal with."
Youngs, 22, had surgery on his knee in July but was fit to play in England's World Cup campaign in New Zealand.
The former Tigers players' player of the year has made 80 appearances for the East Midlands club and scored 75 points.
He has played a vital part in Leicester's domestic and European campaigns of late but has not featured for his club this season due to his England commitments.
James Grindal, Sam Harrison and Mickey Young have all worn the number nine shirt in Youngs's absence.
