Fifth-placed Guernsey got back to winning ways in London South One with a 15-10 win over Thanet Wanderers at Footes Lane.
Sam Stevens got a try on his debut while Layton Batiste also crossed the line for Guernsey as Nick Barton added a conversion and a penalty.
"We've got a lot to work on but I think Thanet was a decent enough side," coach Jordan Reynolds told BBC Guernsey.
"But we got the result we wanted which is what counts at the end of the day."
Reynolds added: "I thought we played a good first half but we let ourselves down in the second.
"We allowed them back into the game more than anything, they are a decent side but we could have put on a better result than we did."
