Jersey Rugby Club extended their winning streak to five games in National League One with a 51-21 win over Barking.

The islanders ran in six tries, with Donovan Sanders, James Copsey, Guy Thompson (2), Michael le Bourgeois and Kingsley Lang all touching down.

Chris Ashwin, Tom Burns and Liam Dwyer went over for the Londoners.

Le Bourgeois was successful with all nine kicks and his total of 26 points was more than half the Jersey score.

The island's head coach Ben Harvey said: "I thought we had to work really hard for the first three tries.

"When we sorted our patterns out, stuck to our systems and went through our phases, I thought we looked really, really good.

"We were very determined at half-time to push on again and I felt that a big score was available to us.

"No disrespect to Barking, but I just thought our lads were up for a big performance and they showed that."

Jersey climb two places to seventh spot in the table while Barking fall to 13th.

The new floodlights at St Peter were turned on for the first time in a competitive Jersey fixture.
