Plymouth Albion bow out of British & Irish Cup after Ayr defeat
Plymouth Albion let a 17-point lead slip against Ayr as they bowed out of the British and Irish Cup.
Jack Nowell and Rupert Freestone both ran in first-half tries for Albion.
But hooker Haydn Wisnewski went over for the Scottish Cup holders just before the break to make it 17-5 as Ayr began to dominate.
Robbie Ferguson added two penalties before kicking the winning conversion after ex-Scotland international John Beattie had crossed the line.
