Former Wales flanker Richard Webster is the new head coach of Division Two West strugglers Maesteg, having recently left Welsh Premiership club Neath.

The Old Parish have lost all their league games this season and have had to call off several games because of a shortage of front row players.

Webster, 44, was in charge at Swansea last season, but switched to the Gnoll this season.

He has also coached at Bridgend and Cardiff Blues.

The former British and Irish Lions flanker and Wales rugby league international was also in charge of Wales Under 20 at the 2011 Junior World Championships.
