Winger Ed Dawson touched down in the closing moments to clinch a bonus-point win for Jersey at Macclesfield.
The 24-15 victory stretched Jersey's winning streak to eight games but they stay fourth in the table, now just seven points behind leaders Ealing.
Josh Fowles and Ed Stobart scored for the hosts and for much of the second period they trailed by only two points.
Guy Thompson, Ashley Maggs and James Copsey had put the islanders on their way to victory with first-half tries.
Head coach Ben Harvey told BBC Radio Jersey: "The boys had to play extremely well to win the game and to get a bonus point as well is hugely satisfying.
"If we can continue to play as well as we did, in a very difficult place such as Macclesfield, then it bodes very well for the rest of the season.
"The performance today was built on fantastic defence and we've got fantastic character in the team."
Jersey would be second in the National One table, two points off top, but for a five-point deduction earlier in the season for playing too many foreign players.
