Luctonians boss Alex Davidson targets strong December
Luctonians director of rugby Alex Davidson is targeting two National Two North wins by Christmas.
The Herefordshire club are currently in fifth place after beating second-placed Caldy 24-20 on Saturday.
"We have got Leicester Lions away and then Bromsgrove at home and they are both winnable games," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"It would be nice to go into Christmas with three straight wins behind us and back pushing second and third place."
Saturday's win at Mortimer Park marked the halfway stage of the National Two North season and Davidson believes the league table does not lie at this stage - the better teams are at the top.
"Loughborough [Students] are out there at the top and then teams like Huddersfield and Westoe are still in and about there," he said.
"They always offer tough opposition as we found out a couple of weeks ago with Huddersfield.
"So the league table has panned out about right so far."
Davidson says Lucs' greater strength in depth this season should stand them in good stead should their injury tally start to mount.
"We have brought quite a few players through, especially the younger players," he said.
"But the players have bought into the fact that the second team is now playing competitive rugby.
"So they have earned their stripes playing in the second team and that's the way it works as it is quite fluid between the firsts and seconds.
"We are just trying to bring the cream to the top in the knowledge we will use over 40 players this season."
