Redruth joy at last-gasp 24-23 Dings Crusaders win

Redruth needed a last-minute converted try from Tom Duncan to secure a 24-23 win over Dings Crusaders in National Two South at the Rec.
Redruth were 20-7 down with 30 minutes left as Mitch Burton kicked 15 points and Elliot Goodman got a try for Dings to cancel out Greg Goodfellow's try.
Brett Rule and Burton then exchanged penalties before Redruth's fightback.
With 12 minutes to go Redruth scored a penalty try before Tom Duncan crashed over late on and Rule converted.
"The first 20 minutes we didn't help ourselves, we didn't play particularly well and we fell foul of the referee on a number of occasions," director of rugby Dave Penberthy told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"I began to think 'what are we doing right?', not from a coaching perspective, but more from the referee's perspective.
"I'd like to read the assessor's report of how that game was refereed because I felt the penalty try should have been two or three minutes before Duncs went over and scored the crucial try," he said.
The victory sees Redruth consolidate sixth place in the table and came as Brett Rule played his first game at fly-half after .
"I'm particularly delighted for Brett because he was distraught a few months back, he had a similar sort of position against Henley here but this time he came good and brought us the victory," Penberthy said.
"That win was a good win, it was a dogged win, it was ugly, but we'll take any points we can get," Rule added.
"That's what you get when you've got a pack of forwards like ours, that don't give up.
"They've put us on the front foot all year round and it's their effort in training and on game days like this that gives the backs a chance and puts us in a situation to win the game."
