Redruth boss Dave Penberthy saw his side lose 32-22 at Henley in National Two South.
The Reds were 22-3 down after two Chris Bart tries and one each for James Winterbottom and Ryan Newman.
But Darren Jacques and Dean Bonds brought them to within seven points in the second half before two more Henley tries sealed the win.
Jacques went over for his second try late on but it was not enough to secure a bonus point.
"I'm a bit disappointed not to have come away with something to be honest," said Penberthy, who announced last week that he would leave the club at the end of the season.
"We were a little bit lethargic to start with and allowed them to build up a score.
"[In the] second half we were outstanding, it was just a shame that we didn't manage to get that fourth try and get within seven points," he added to BBC Radio Cornwall.
The defeat leaves Redruth in fifth place in National Two South, but there is now an 11-point gap between themselves and fourth-placed Henley.
