Blackheath performance director Yusuf Ibraham says he can accept their defeat by Wharfdale because of the strength of their performance.

They trailed their National League One match by eight points at half time but fought back to lose out 31-30.

Ibraham told BBC Radio Kent: "We were really disappointed with our endeavour last week so we had a really hard week in training.

"I don't mind losing when we've given everything."

The defeat leaves Blackheath sixth in the table but Ibraham said there were enough positives to give him optimism for the remaining months of the season.

"We said we had to dig in and worked really hard. We threw the kitchen sink at them, I'm proud of them, we're quietly happy with the effort where we felt we didn't get that last week," he continued.

Westcombe Park are still bottom of National League Two South after their 32-18 defeat by relegation rivals Dings Crusaders.

Canterbury made it 16 straight league victories with a 50-35 win over Bracknell in National League Three.
