Bedford Blues flanker Sacha Harding will be out for six weeks after suffering damage to a disc in his neck.
The 28-year-old has not played since picking up the injury in the New Year's Day victory over Cornish Pirates.
Blues physio Simon Jones said: "Sacha basically needs complete rest and rehabilitation to recover from this type of an injury.
"He will definitely be out for another six weeks, but I'm sure he'll be back and raring to go for the play-offs."
Harding, who is in his 11th season at Goldington Road, missed the climax of last season after breaking an arm.
The Blues are without a game this weekend and could welcome back John Fisher from an injury lay-off before the trip to Leeds on 29 January to re-enforce director of rugby Mike Rayer's flanker options.
