Redruth boss Dave Penberthy was pleased at his side's comprehensive 36-15 win over Lydney in National Two South.

Tries from Dean Bonds and Tom Duncan gave the Reds a 10-8 lead at the break.

Darren Jacques, Owen Hambly, Sam Parsons and a second for Bonds sealed the win before Taitosi Lacabuka got a late consolation for Lydney.

"It was a very good performance. In the second half we came out with real purpose and played the game we were playing up at Henley," Penberthy said.

"We played some great rugby," added try-scorer Jacques to BBC Radio Cornwall.

"When we exposed them there was space everywhere because there were so many of them in the break down."

But Redruth were dealt a blow just before half-time when influential flanker Chris Fuca came off with a dislocated shoulder.

"He was devastated. The poor boy was in tears in the changing room at half-time," Penberthy said.

"That's the sort of player he is. He's totally committed and hopefully he won't be out for too long."
